• Clear Creek Amana is Accepting Open Enrollment Applications In Designated Buildings and Grade levels for the 2024-2025 School Year Until May 9, 2024

    On April 17, 2024, the Clear Creek Amana Community School District Board of Directors approved open enrollment for students receiving regular education services in designated buildings and grade levels. Classroom space availability will be evaluated as open enrollment applications are received and in-district registration continues. The deadline for open enrollment is May 9, 2024.  

    The following buildings and grade levels are accepting up to 25 applications per grade:

    (This does not apply to building transfers for current students)

    • Amana Elementary - Kindergarten through Fourth grades
    • Tiffin Elementary - Kindergarten and First grades
    • Oak Hill Elementary - Second and Third grades

Open Enrollment

  • Open Enrollment is the process by which parents/guardians residing in an Iowa district may enroll their children into another Iowa school district under the terms and conditions of Iowa Code section 282.18 and 281–Iowa Administrative Code 17.

    Application Information and Deadlines 

    If a parent or guardian wishes to open enroll their child(ren), they must: 

    • Complete and submit an application for each child in their family, and
    • Send the application to both the resident and receiving school districts.
  • Important Notes 

    • Approval for one child in a family does not guarantee approval for other children in the same family. A parent or guardian must file an open enrollment request for each child in the family.
    • A parent or guardian may apply to more than one school district at the same time.
    • Parents must notify (in writing) the districts concerned if there is any change in the student's residence during the open enrollment period.
    • Parents must notify (in writing) the districts concerned if terminating open enrollment.

    House File (HF) 2589 eliminates the March 1 deadline for open enrollment. This change allows parents/guardians to apply for open enrollment at any time without the need for good cause. The receiving district may deny an open enrollment request if one of the following applies:

    • The application violates the district’s insufficient classroom space policy,
    • The district does not have the appropriate special education program,
    • The application would adversely affect the district’s implementation of a court-ordered desegregation plan, or
    • The student has been expelled or suspended.
