2022-2023 COVID FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

  • Are COVID-19 vaccines required for staff or for students?
No. CCA CSD supports anyone wanting to receive the vaccine or booster shots.  We are not currently planning to offer clinics within our buildings for this school year.

If my child is diagnosed with COVID-19, will they be required to isolate at home?
Persons who test positive for COVID must isolate away from school for 5 days beyond symptom onset or 5 days beyond test date if asymptomatic (day of symptom onset or day of test if asymptomatic is counted as day “0”). If one or more COVID symptoms develop in an asymptomatic positive student or staff member, day “0” resets to the day of symptom onset and they must isolate for 5 more days beyond that. (See COVID Protocols above for complete explanation).

Will all parents of a building be notified if there is a positive COVID-19 case in a classroom or school building?
Parents/guardians can refer to the overall Illness Dashboard on the District website for illness information but COVID-19 notifications will not be sent out.  The dashboard will be updated weekly.

Will my child be required to quarantine if they are considered a close contact?
Per IDPH, parents may determine if their child will quarantine as long as they remain symptom free.

    Are in-person parent-teacher meetings possible?
Meetings with teachers may be either in-person or online as the situation permits and based on what is preferred for those participating in the meetings.
