Parents’ Rights Afforded By Section 504 Of The Rehabilitation Act Of 1973
The following is a description of the rights granted by federal law to students with disabilities. The intent of the law is to keep parents/guardians fully informed concerning decisions about their child and to inform them of their rights if they disagree with any of these decisions.

Transition Alliance Program (TAP)

CCA started a Transition Alliance Program in collaboration with Iowa Vocation Rehabilitation Services in July of 2022. The program focused its services on current 11th and 12th-grade students who qualified for pre-employment programming through their IEP or 504. The program has expanded its service to support 9th-12th grade students who qualify.
Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS) is Iowa’s state vocational rehabilitation program and is a division of the Iowa Department of Education. They are a part of the state-federal vocational rehabilitation system. Each state receives funding to operate a vocational rehabilitation program(s) based on the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
