  • September

    • Collect information about schools at the ICAN website
    • Sign up for PIN Number on the Federal Student Aid website if completing the FAFSA online
    • See what documents are needed to fill out the FAFSA from this ICAN website link.
    • Re-take or take the ACT or SAT test.  (School Code is 163430)
    • Take ALEKS and Accuplacer test if attending 2 year/vocational colleges
    • Request transcripts be sent here. Every college/program will require one.
    • Check out local and national scholarships on our website

    October

    • Check out your matches for schools and programs in (MAP)
    • Apply to schools you are interested in and have transcripts sent to using this Federal Student Aid link.
    • Plan campus visits. Days we don’t have school are good times to go on visits.
    • Re-take or take the ACT or SAT test.  (School Code is 163430)
    • Take ALEKS and Accuplacer test if attending 2 year/vocational colleges
    • Fill out the FAFSA online form at the Federal Student Aid website.
    • Check out local and national scholarships on our website.

    November

    • Apply to schools you are interested in and have transcripts sent using this link.
    • Request any letters of recommendations if needed.
    • Check for FAFSA deadlines at the Student Aid website for each institution you are applying to.

    December

    • Finish applications to all colleges you are interested in attending.
    • Prepare for semester 1 final exams/projects.
    • Re-take the ACT or SAT test if needed.  (School Code is 163430)
    • Take ALEKS and Accuplacer test if attending 2 year/vocational colleges

    January

    • Make sure you have completed all college applications and visits.

    February

    • Check out local and national scholarships on our website

    • Take ALEKS and Accuplacer test if attending 2 year/vocational colleges
    • Check your admissions status

    March/April

    • Complete college applications
    • Watch for award letters from colleges you applied to.
    • Send confirmation of acceptance and call admissions with any concerns.

    May

    • Complete loan and scholarship papers with bank/college
    • Finalize housing and financial aid details
    • Prepare for semester 2 finals/projects
    • Send final transcripts to the college you are attending by filling out the Transcript Request Form
