I’m Ryan Paulson and I am thrilled at the opportunity to lead our brand-new East Ridge Elementary School.  I am originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa and am completing my 12^th year in education.  I received Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology and Social Science Education, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, all from the University of Northern of Iowa.   I have been at CCA High School serving as the Dean of Students for the last 4 years.  Before becoming a Clipper, I spent the previous 8 years as a High School Social Studies Teacher for the Waterloo Community School District.  While in Waterloo, I also served as an Assistant High School Swim coach for both Women’s and Men’s teams. 

My wife, Jonna, is an ELL teacher for CCA and I have two daughters in Kindergarten and Preschool.  In our free time, you can find us cheering on the Hawkeyes, as well as at our daughter’s dance recitals and competitions in their various other sports.

I am eager to begin my work as Principal of East Ridge Elementary, where I will be working with an amazing instructional staff, moving from Oak Hill Elementary, with a history of consistent classroom success.  I am most excited about working with our students and developing the next generation of school and community leaders at our district’s unifying point where we truly become One Fleet!
