Welcome Christine Mangrich

Christine Mangrich Will Join CCA as Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction

With Angi Hoyer retiring after this school year as current Elementary Curriculum & Instruction Director and Matt Leeman leaving to go to Mount Vernon School District as Superintendent, CCA combined the elementary and secondary curriculum positions. Christine will join us for the 2024-2025 school year, and you can learn more about her below:

I am coming from Colorado Springs, CO where I have spent the last three years working at The Haven, a hybrid school that has online and in-person learning for K-12 students. I am thrilled to be returning to Iowa, my native state. I grew up in the La Porte City, Iowa area and lived there my entire life, until family drew us to our short-term adventure in Colorado.

I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa and taught 3rd grade at La Porte City Elementary until I earned my master's degree in PK-12 administration from the University of Northern Iowa in 2008. I then was the lead consultant for the Iowa Core at Central Rivers AEA. After that, I spent ten years as the Associate Director of Instructional Services at Cedar Falls Community Schools.

My husband, Troy, and I love to hike, kayak, and bike for fun. We are looking forward to the Iowa trails once again. We have also found that our greatest joy has come from being grandparents to our granddaughter, Kennedy, and grandson, Robby. We have a daughter, Stephanie, who lives and works in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a son, Bob and his wife, Stephanie, who live in Cedar Rapids. We are also Iowa Hawkeye fans, so we will enjoy being able to attend more events in person.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in the CCA community. I have enjoyed working with teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators in my previous roles, so this will be a wonderful opportunity for me once again.
