Thomas Braverman was celebrated today as a finalist for the 2024 Iowa Teacher of the Year award. Braverman is a 35-year veteran educator, teaching for many years in special education at City High School in Iowa City. He is now teaching at the Clear Creek Amana School District.

 

During his time at City High, Braverman was noted for his work in creating a model special education program and for his passion for developing vocational skills with students. In his own words, Braverman said,” Never underestimate the ability of any student to learn.”
