Robert E. Yager Active Learning Award

Congratulations Mr. Creach!!

Each year, The Iowa Children’s Museum receives dozens of nominations for outstanding educators across Iowa who foster an active learning environment in their classrooms and create opportunities for students to imagine, create, discover, and explore.

Mr. Gus Creach, 5th Grade Teacher at Oak Hill Elementary, was chosen as one of 5 recipients for the 2024 Dr. Robert E. Yager Active Learning Award.

These educators have all excelled in facilitating active classroom learning. They provide students with opportunities to become engaged learners, innovative thinkers, and creative problem solvers.

This award is presented in memory of University of Iowa Professor Emeritus Dr. Robert E. Yager. Dr. Yager devoted his career to empowering educators to inspire students to learn through active engagements with concepts and hands-on materials.
