Membership is open to all high school band members with the desire to learn about jazz and who qualify for the needs of the Jazz Band. If there is enough interest within the membership a second jazz band will be formed. Final selection for the group is based upon an audition and the student’s commitment to the group. The Pep Band is comprised of students within the membership of the concert band. The group will be divided equally into 3 pep bands. Each pep band will perform for three (3) winter athletic events. These three events will count towards the performance requirement for the 2nd semester and are required events just like any concert or marching band performance. Students are not limited to the three required performances and are encouraged to play at all scheduled events. Students with conflicts for a pep band performance must complete an excused absence form two week in advance of the event, and must make up another pep band performance by the end of the season. Students who are involved in winter athletics will be excused from performances that conflict with a home or away event for their team.
